1. Spot welding machines often experience common malfunctions during application, such as overheating. When the welding machine overheats, the following checks can be carried out to determine the cause.
Check if the insulation resistance between the electrode holder of the spot welding machine and the human body is poor, which may cause a local short circuit.
2. Check if the water leakage pressure, water output, and power supply temperature of the spot welding machine are suitable, and if there are any dirt blockages in the water system that may cause overheating of the electrode arm, electrode rod, and electrode head due to poor cooling.
3. Check whether the copper flexible joint and electrode arm of the spot welding machine, as well as the surface of the electrode rod and electrode head, are severely oxidized, resulting in increased contact resistance and severe overheating.
4. Check whether the cross section of the welding machine's electrode head has been lifted too much due to wear and tear, causing the welding machine to become hot under load.
5. Check whether the welding thickness and load rate of the spot welding machine exceed the standard, causing the welding machine to overheat due to load. In summary, when encountering difficulties, first investigate the actual reasons and then deal with them purposefully.
The communication and exchange of spot welding machine work can be divided into several stages, including:
(1) Pre pressing stage of spot welding machine - the electrode is lowered to the current connection stage to ensure that the electrode is tightly clamped on the workpiece and there is moderate pressure between the workpieces.
(2) Welding time of spot welding machine - The welding current generates welding points based on the heat generated by the workpiece.
(3) Holding time of spot welding machine - Disconnect the welding current and maintain the electrode pressure again until the welding point condenses to sufficient strength.
(4) Rest time of spot welding machine - from the beginning of electrode lifting to the beginning of electrode lowering again, the next welding cycle begins.
In order to better improve the characteristics of welded joints, sometimes one or more of the following categories must be added to the base cycle:
(1) Increase pre pressure to clear the gaps between thick workpieces, making them closely compatible.
(2) Using a heating single pulse to enhance the plasticity of the metal, making it easier for the workpiece to fit together and prevent splashing; When welding with a spot welding machine, doing so can ensure that several protruding points touch the flat plate evenly before plug-in welding, to ensure consistent heating at each point.
